Kolkata is not a neutral starting point for a science company. In 1901, Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray founded Bengal Chemical & Pharmaceutical Works here — India's first pharmaceutical enterprise, built on the conviction that rigorous chemistry could be both locally rooted and world-class. That lineage of scientific institution-building, from the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science to the Bose Institute, is part of the intellectual air this city breathes.
Qazivo doesn't claim that history. We're a new company, incorporated in 2026. But we chose to build here deliberately — in a city that has always insisted science and ambition aren't mutually exclusive with place.
